Six Weeks of Portfolio Art Ages 10-14
October 17 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Students will work on challenging projects and begin to form their own artistic style as well as fill the gaps in their current portfolios, enhancing some of the work they have and developing new pieces to create a well rounded, college ready portfolio.
With small classes, an hour and a half of instruction each day, passionate instructors, and professionally-equipped studios, MAKE is a creative community. Some students arrive with specific goals and projects in mind, and others want to explore and enjoy some learning that stands apart from the usual rigors of their academic school year.
Projects will be kept at MAKE and kept “secret” from parents until the last day when friends and family are invited to an art show reveal during the last 15 minutes of class time.
Meeting Thursdays August 22, August 29, September 5, September 12, September 19 and September 26 at 4-5:30pm each week.
Curriculum is created by Kijsa Housman, utilizing her classical education (BFA in Studio Art, graduate education in Art History), 20-plus years as a professional artist, and her 17 years as a mom! With additional fun instructors, She adds in tons of fun, lots of neat information, and a great understanding for why art is created by the masters, how art is created using proper techniques and variety of materials, and the importance of the process and creativity.
