#656Feet Painting Event
May 21, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
A fun and creative way to honor Mason’s Legacy and to provide shoes to the people in Uganda
We will have painting days at MAKE these Sunday afternoons: April 23, April 30, May 7, May 21 2pm-5pm These will be listed on MAKE’s website calendar and Facebook page. These are all free, just bring your own pair of shoes to paint.
All painting supplies are provided by MAKE. All ages welcome.
There is also healing in this process. When you create with your hands it uses a different part of your brain. It activates emotions and pulls out feelings that might be suppressed while engaging in regular daily activities. Tactile work, the sense of touch, brings the opportunity to feel things that make us happy, make us ponder, make us pray, make us cry. That is more important than ever in this day and age of technology where it almost stifles the ability to truly feel. Emotions are reduced to emojis, feelings are reduced to punctuation.
Creating changes that.
If you want to schedule a youth group or sunday school class during those times or others, or a special event, let us know! Please feel free to paint on your own as well! If you or your group does your creating elsewhere, you can bring the shoes to MAKE anytime during open hours w-f 10-5, saturday 10-2.
We always need shoe or paint donations if you want to participate that way: Shoes: plain canvas shoes of any style or color, in any size- child-adult. Paint: fabric paints, any size, any color
Also, we can use help tagging and boxing shoes in June if you would like to participate that way.
we also post to instagram @656feet, tag your photos #656feet so we can follow along on this journey together.
